Our Makeup Charters

This type of offshore charter has been called by different names like makeup charter, group share or even walk-on charters. Most charter boats are licensed to carry only six anglers and many times a few anglers want to go on an offshore charter but are unable to locate a full six anglers. With makeup charters you can tell us by posting on our calendar how many anglers your group has and then we will search for the necessary additional anglers to make a full group and book your requested date.

The species we fish for varies by season and might include yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, mahi, wahoo and sailfish. Captain Tom fishes daily and is always on top of what is biting. Makeup trips are "captain's choice" meaning he picks the species that you have the best opportunity to catch unless the group has gotten together and asked for something special.

As you can imagine, it takes a lot of coordination to pull this type of charter together. For the protection of the boat and individual anglers there are several rules necessary that don't apply to a normal charter. Listed below are the makeup charter rules. Find the date(s) you are wanting to join a charter

Tell us how many anglers you are going to have by using the "quantity" listing in the upper right corner of the website

You will then be given a form to fill in your name, phone number and email address

You can add you name and group to more than one date. We ask that once the date is booked that you remove/cancel any future listings unless you want to go again

Once six anglers are signed up for a date our credit card payment requests will go out. The makeup charter is not booked until all payments have been received

Once the charter is booked only the captain can cancel it and refund the payments

For the protection of all anglers "no shows" at the boat at the time of departure forfeit their payments

When we arrive back at the dock all fish are taken to the marina's processors and divided equally among the anglers that want their share. The price of the processing is shared equally among angler's that want a share

Please bring a large cooler and leave it in your vehicle until we return

Anglers should bring their own food and drinks in a small cooler

We suggest that if you don't know whether or not you get seasick that you start taking Dramamine or other similar OTC anti-nausea medicines the night before your trip
