Our Cape Hatteras Charter Prices and FAQ

Hatteras, NC White Marlin released on offshore sportfishing charter.

Longer Days offers full day offshore sportfishing charters. Our offshore charters normally leave the dock at daybreak and return between 4 pm and 5 pm each afternoon.

Please check this Teach's Lair Marina page for our current rates. Due to the current fuel situation we are forced to change our rates often in order to be able to continue running charters. We try to keep these prices updated on the Teach's Lair website but we do suggest that customers check with us right before their trip just in case. We are glad to design each individual charter around your personal desires so please discuss any special needs or requests when you are booking your charter trip.

We require a $300 deposit for a full day offshore charter by cash or check. Deposits by credit card can be made through Teach's Lair Marina 252-986-2460.
All necessary fishing licenses are provided by our blanket charter boat license.
Our rates are greatly based on fuel prices. Due to the current fuel situation please check on the rates just before your charter. Rates are for the entire boat with up to six anglers. (Not per angler.)
The mate is the hardest working person on any charter and he is the key ingredient in your fishing success. It is traditional in North Carolina to tip your mate between 15% and 20% of the charter rate.
All gear, bait and ice will be onboard waiting for your arrival. All you need is your own food, drinks, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, camera, soft soled shoes, etc. Please keep the number of coolers down to one. We encourage you to bring your camera to preserve the memories. However, if you bring along electronics like phones or cameras please be aware that a boat can be a harsh environment for these items so keep them stored while not in use. We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal items. Check the weather and dress layered according. Remember that it is easier to remove items if you wear too much than borrow from someone else if you get wet or cold.
The captain has the sole authority to cancel a trip. It is required that you show up for your scheduled charter unless you have heard differently from the captain. Often the weather offshore can be entirely different than the weather on land. If for safety reasons the captain feels it is necessary to cancel the trip, you will have the choice of return of your deposit or rescheduling. By not showing up for a reservation you are forfeiting your deposit.
Yes, all fish caught within the fishing regulations become the property of the charter. However to protect the species we release billfish and certain regulated species. Most fish that can be legally kept have size and/or number limits. The captain is responsible for watching that customers stay within regulations.
Teach's Lair Marina has a professional fish cleaning (filet and packaging) service for customers that do not wish to take the fish home to clean themselves.
Please check our Hatteras Fishing Calendar for a list of species and the months each species is most likely to be available to anglers. If you would like us to specifically target a certain species or use a specific fishing method please discuss this with the captain when making your reservation.
If you choose to drink beer please be responsible. Do not bring any sort of beverage in glass containers. For the safety of everyone onboard the captain reserves the right to termination a charter and return to the dock if a passenger becomes disorderly.
